Abstract
The paper examines modern U.S. policy in Libya after the overthrow of the regime of M. Gaddafi. The problem of assessing the efficiency of foreign policy instruments used by Washington in relation to the countries of the Middle East is touched upon. The methods of general scientific and political analysis are applied in the work. The empirical basis of the study was the official documents of the US government authorities. The article justifies the author’s conclusion about the failure of U.S. foreign policy in Libya.
