Аннотация
21 мая 2022 ушел из жизни Виктор Яковлевич Мачнев – человек, чья творческая и научная биография связана с Самарским университетом, социологическим факультетом и научным сообществом Самары. Цель статьи – представить портрет исследователя, руководителя, увлеченного и разностороннего человека. Делаются выводы о причинах широкого признания в научной среде и успехах в преподавательской и научной деятельности.
