The introduction of bubbles into the uterus for the excitation of attempts or expansion of the cervical canal is not new in any case. Just as the apparatus serving to expand the vagina is called the colpeyrinter, the apparatus serving to expand the uterus is called the metreyrinter. The author distinguishes between cervical dilatation of the uterus (Metreurysis) and supracervical, depending on whether the balloon serving for expansion is located mainly in the cervix or above it, that is, in the uterus itself.
