Abstract
The article discusses the role of family values in the process of shaping value orientations among adolescents engaged in sports. Based on pedagogical observations and a survey, the preferences of athletes in relation to family, their views on traditions, mutual assistance, upbringing, and the significance of parental support have been identified. Special attention is given to the interaction between coaches and parents as a crucial component of the educational process in athletic training. Directions for educational work that contribute to strengthening moral orientations and forming stable life attitudes among adolescents are highlighted.
The purpose of the study is to identify the influence of family values on the process of shaping the personal attitudes of young athletes during the educational and training process.
Research methods and organization. The study was conducted at the sports school of the Olympic reserve "Baltic Shore" in St. Petersburg, among young athletes engaged in sport orienteering. The primary method employed was a questionnaire survey, along with methods of pedagogical observation and analysis of normative, legal, and scientific literature.
Research results. As a result of the research, it has been identified that targeted efforts to strengthen family values within the sports environment should become an integral part of the strategy for developing the moral potential of youth. Only under the conditions of interaction among the family, the coach-teacher, and the athlete themselves is it possible to achieve a comprehensive educational effect.
