The Specifics of Verbal Modeling of Space in a Modern German Detective Novel

The interest of scientists and literary critics in the phenomenon of space is due to the need for scientific analysis of the spatial characteristics of a literary text. The term locus is often used, which has a hierarchical structure and can be metaphorically represented in the form of matrjoshka. The author of the article identifies the locus of the crime scene, which is the central genre-forming element of the detective genre. It is the hierarchical structure of the locus that allows us to build a verbal model of the space of a modern German detective novel, which has a “pulsating” character: the space expands from the crime scene to the scale of the country or European and world space and narrows again to the crime scene.
