Abstract
It is a review of the book, a significant part of which is devoted to the memoirs of the employees of the Russian-Vietnamese Tropical Center about work in the forests of South Vietnam and life in Ho Chi Minh City. The book gives colorful descriptions of tropical nature and life of the local population.
