The review highlights that the author convincingly defined the leadership of A.D. Mikhailov at the final stage of the Earth and Freedom Movement and the active phase of the revolutionary struggle of Narodnaya Volya in the 1879-1880s, and reasonably reconstructed the most important events of the revolutionary narodniks movement. The two-volume monograph by the talented historian Yu.A. Pelevin will take its rightful place among the major works of modern Russian historiography.
