A.D. Birshtein. — 16 cases of complete vaginal removal of the uterus .— (Doctor. 1897, No. 44, p. 1264).
After brief historical and statistical indications regarding this operation, the author describes in detail 16 cases that had a place in the Smolensk province. zemstvo hospitalѣ in the course of 3 years (1894-1897). In case of uterine cancer, the operation was performed 12 times, with the outcome in recovery. They were operated on for 27--55 years. In some cases, recognition was confirmed using a microscope.
