Abstract
Research methods and organization. In March 2024, an online survey was conducted among students in grades 5-9. The students evaluated their level of physical fitness as well as their academic performance.
Research results and conclusions. It has been established that children with low levels of physical fitness more frequently exhibited satisfactory academic performance, including in the subject of "Physical Culture," and less frequently demonstrated excellent academic performance. Conversely, children with high levels of physical fitness more often exhibited excellent academic performance and less frequently satisfactory academic performance. Thus, there is a correlation between academic performance and physical fitness among students in grades 5-9. This data can be used to justify the need to foster motivation for physical culture and sports among children and adolescents.
