Abstract
Research methods and organization. The study was conducted at the Department of Theory and Methods of Boxing at the Lesgaft National State University of Physical Education, Sport and Health, Saint Petersburg, with the participation of highly skilled boxers (Candidate for Master of Sport and Master of Sport) aged 18 to 22. The following research methods were used: analysis of scientific literature, questionnaires, heart rate monitoring, pedagogical experiment, and methods of mathematical statistics.
Research results and conclusions. Analysis of the sparring sessions revealed a 24.4% increase in the use of the lead hand and an 18.2% rise in the density of attacking combinations; most athletes demonstrated consistent maintenance of active engagement throughout the final round. Confidence levels improved: 87% of the boxers reported better control of distance and the initiation of attacks, which allowed them to reduce the number of their opponent's offensive actions.
