Abstract
The study focuses on the image of Russia as perceived by the English press during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Based on British books, magazines and newspapers, the Russian colorist peculiarities are revealed. The purpose of the study is to show how British publicists represent Russia in the late 19th – early 20th century. As a result of the study, it is revealed that the British society represented Russia from a negative point of view mainly because of political influence.
