Abstract
The official biography of Tambov governor N.M. Garting is considered, as well as his approach to administrative activities. His background, education, career dynamics, marital status and administrative experience, which allowed N.M. Garting to become governor, are analyzed. The role of the vice-governor V.N. Tokarev and the governor L.A. Garting’s wife in influencing the administration of the provinces is noted. It is concluded that the N.M. Garting’s vocational training fully corresponded to the governor post, and his administrative influence on the Tambov province life can be assessed as positive.
